Clean coal company White Energy Company has completed the construction of the first one million tonne per annum clean coal upgrding modular plant at Bayan’s mine in East Kalimantan.
Following this, production of the plant is expected to ramp up to full capacity over the next six months. The company expects the upgraded coal to have a similar or premium price to conventional high rank thermal coals due to the siilar energy yield.
White Energy and Bayan have begun discussions with a short list of bankers to assist with a rollout of additional plants in theshort‐term.
White Energy CEO John Atkinson said, ‘Whereas White Energy has successfully built and operated other BCB plants at various locations, the significance of this project is the fact it will be our first full commercial production, large scale operating plant, providing the first steady revenue stream to White Energy. Bayan’s desire to expand our joint venture to 15 million tonnes per annum is an endorsement of our technology and demonstratesthe economic opportunity it creates.’
